DINEX Lighting™ was founded in 2006 within I/O Controls Corporation's research and development program. Due to the market attractiveness and I/O Controls Corporation's core competency in providing a total integrated control and monitoring solutions for the automation industry, DINEX Lighting™ was able to leverage its parent company's technology and began introducing its interior lighting products to the market in 2007. This successful endeavor led to the official establishment of DINEX Lighting™ in 2008. Now, DINEX Lighting™ is regarded as one of the leading manufacturers of interior lighting products for the transportation industry.

With the success of the interior lighting products in 2008, DINEX Lighting™ began offering the LED Upgrade Kit for the transit bus market in 2009 to provide more reliable and environmentally friendly products.
